About Us

Chatterbox Pre-school is a unique setting for 2-5 years olds, affording large indoor and outdoor spaces, which encourage children to learn and develop through play and adventure.

Main Building

Our main building comprises of 4 rooms, offering children the opportunity for maximum free flow and independence.

Our main room offers various themed areas, including:
• Reception area
• Roleplay/dress-up areas
• Group activity area – where we do our daily ‘wake and shake’ and group games
• Dedicated activity table/dining space
• Free play spaces – for open-ended play with construction, discovery and small world play at floor level

Our separate reading room is where we settle down together for registration and our daily storytime. It provides a quiet and cosy place for children to explore books together or independently. It also doubles up as our inviting sleeping space during the afternoon for those children who take an afternoon nap.

The messy room lies at the heart of Chatterbox enjoyment, where children can paint, engage in water and sand play and yes, you guessed it, get involved with all things messy! Whether they are hunting in the sand for dinosaurs, getting hands-on with shaving foam or painting their hands and feet, it’s a firm favourite with our lovely chatterboxes.

Finally, our small tranquil sensory room provides stimulation or sanctuary for our little ones; allowing them to explore dark and light, bubbles and motion.

Outdoor Play

Outside play forms the majority of our daily routine. Our outdoor covered area allows activities to take place whatever the weather. The newly renovated playground offers many exciting activities designed to encourage imagination, problem-solving, role play and supporting the development of crucial gross motor skills. These skills are a precursor to learning fine motor skills; developing strength in the neck, shoulders and upper back, before learning to control a pencil being one such example.

Our equipment includes:

• Large pirate ship
• Wooden den
• Weaving wall
• Water play wall
• Sand Pit
• Games panels
• Mark making station

Our vegetable patch is a firm favourite with children who enjoy planting seedlings, tending to them and watching them grow. This often culminates with the children picking and eating the fruits of their labour.
